Mitsubishi in San Ramon
San Ramon is where our shop sits, on the Bishop Ranch side, so we respond fastest here. It's also an inland Tri-Valley town, 95-plus common in July and August, mild 35 to 40 winters. Cooling is the bigger workload. The bulk of our San Ramon work is in the 1980s and 90s tract neighborhoods, Crow Canyon, Westside, Twin Creeks, Dougherty Valley, where original gas furnaces and AC condensers are aging out and full heat pump replacement makes more sense than another repair. Most of those are ducted jobs, and Mitsubishi is one brand among several we'd consider for the central system.
Where Mitsubishi specifically earns its place in San Ramon is ductless. The older sections near downtown and along Crow Canyon have homes where the ductwork is marginal and not worth keeping; a Mitsubishi mini-split retrofit handles those better than fighting bad duct runs. The same goes for additions, bonus rooms, and the upstairs zones that the original central system never cooled well. A multi-zone Mitsubishi adds capacity exactly where you need it without re-engineering the whole house.
Where this gets honest: for a straightforward ducted replacement in a tract home with good ducts, ductless isn't the value play, and Mitsubishi's premium pricing doesn't always pencil out against a ducted heat pump from a brand we're factory-trained on. We pick by the house. If there's an active utility or state heat pump rebate you qualify for at the time of your install, we'll check it and handle the paperwork with permits, but we won't quote a dollar figure we can't confirm is still open.
Mitsubishi work we do in San Ramon
Ductless retrofits where ducts are marginal. In the older Crow Canyon and downtown-area homes, original ducts are sometimes too leaky or inaccessible to keep. A Mitsubishi mini-split conditions the rooms you use without rebuilding duct runs. Single-zone for a small footprint, multi-zone off one outdoor unit for several rooms.
Multi-zone for additions and second floors. San Ramon tract homes commonly have an upstairs that the central system never kept up with, or an added bonus room off the original footprint. A Mitsubishi multi-zone adds dedicated capacity to those spaces. We size each head to its room so the zones don't fight each other.
Mini-split diagnostics and head cleaning. On existing units the usual call is weak airflow or a musty smell, almost always a dirty blower wheel and coil plus a clogged drain. We do full head cleanings, clear the condensate, and check charge. Yearly maintenance keeps a ductless system efficient through the hot inland summers.
Flare-leak repair and refrigerant recharge. When a head slowly loses capacity over a season, the culprit is usually a flare joint from a flawed first install. We pressure-test with nitrogen, remake the leaking flare to torque, then evacuate and weigh in a fresh charge. A failed Mitsubishi board or sensor is fixable, the part just runs a longer lead time than the volume brands, so we order it before we tear in.
