My wife and I came to California in 2019 as political refugees. I was born in Ukraine, spent most of my adult life in Russia, and left when principled opposition to the regime was no longer safe for our family — three years before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We were in our early thirties, starting over with five thousand dollars. My father had worked as an engineer in industrial safety at thermal power stations, and those engineering roots are what pulled me toward working with real systems. I started with appliance repair, learned sealed refrigeration, moved into air conditioning, then into HVAC. Today I hold a California Contractor License (CSLB #1136642) — I took and passed the exam myself — plus 2025 factory training on Daikin heat pumps in Houston.

Bay Area HVAC Service is family-run. My wife handles the back office. I’m in the field. We work with a small, consistent crew of four technicians and installers — not a rotating cast of strangers. For installations and complex service quotes, I meet you personally. For standard service calls, our certified technicians arrive — and every invoice carries my license number.
