A garage gym or workshop may need cooling while the rest of the house is comfortable. A separate Mitsubishi heat pump can serve that space without extending the house’s ducts. Mitsubishi offers a single-zone arrangement with one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit.
Choose the indoor location around the room
Think about the wall where shelves, exercise equipment or a workbench will go. A high-wall unit needs a usable mounting position; a low-mounted floor console takes up a different part of the wall. A recessed cassette is worth considering when you want the equipment in the ceiling. The ceiling structure and service access still need checking.
Mitsubishi presents these three styles for garage applications. None is a universal choice for every conversion. We explain their placement in the indoor-unit guide, then compare the options in your room.
What we’ll check at the free assessment
Show us how you plan to use the space and whether it will still accommodate a vehicle. We’ll review the room enclosure and openings, indoor mounting space, outdoor location, electrical supply and the route for refrigerant lines and condensate. Those go into the equipment choice and the written quote.
A heating and cooling design is only one part of a garage conversion. Tell us about the rest of the project so that the HVAC proposal can be coordinated with it. The assessment isn’t a promise that every garage is ready for an indoor unit in the spot you first chose.
Using a separate zone
Mitsubishi’s garage guidance describes turning the system off or changing the temperature setting when the space isn’t in use. Your preferred schedule is useful information at the visit. We don’t attach a utility-bill saving to the installation: usage and the building affect the outcome.
Plan the budget
Allow about $5,500 to $9,000 for each Mitsubishi ductless room or zone as a planning range. We give you an exact written estimate after the free installation assessment. Financing available on approved credit.
We work as an independent Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor. For qualifying M-Series or P-Series equipment, our registration within 90 days provides limited parts and compressor coverage of 12 years each; HM, WR, HX and WX wall-mounted models have a 10-year ceiling. These manufacturer terms require a single-family home occupied by its original purchaser, and coverage isn’t transferable. They don’t cover labor. We provide 2 years of workmanship coverage; a purchased JB Warranties plan can add extended labor protection for up to 12 years.
