Carrier in San Ramon
Our shop is at 365 Reflections Cir on the Bishop Ranch side, so San Ramon is the city we know best and reach fastest. It is also a good climate match for Carrier. The Tri-Valley runs hot, 95-plus is common in July and August, and winters are mild with lows in the 35 to 40 range. Cooling is the bigger workload here, and a variable-speed Carrier Infinity system holds a steady temperature through a long hot stretch instead of cycling hard the way a single-stage condenser does. The mild winters mean a heat pump covers heating without trouble.
Most San Ramon work is in the 1980s and 90s tract neighborhoods that make up the bulk of the city: Crow Canyon, Westside, Twin Creeks, and the Dougherty Valley developments. These homes are at the age where original gas furnaces and AC condensers are running into compressor and heat exchanger trouble, and replacement starts to beat another round of repair. Carrier fits this stock well when the ductwork is sound, and a lot of these homes have decent ducts. The newer Gale Ranch and Dougherty Valley builds often already run dual-zone equipment, and Carrier's communicating Infinity systems handle multi-zone cleanly.
Honest note on tier: San Ramon is one of the places where the full Infinity premium actually makes sense, because the heavy summer cooling load gives the variable-speed modulation real work to do. That said, the older sections near downtown and along Crow Canyon sometimes have electrical panels that max out before a heat pump conversion is feasible. We see this often enough on older San Ramon homes that we check it early. We coordinate sub-panel work with a licensed electrician under the same project and put the assessment on the estimate so the cost is clear up front.
Carrier work we do in San Ramon
Carrier Infinity heat pump replacing original tract-home equipment. Our most common job in San Ramon. We replace 25-year-old gas furnaces and original AC condensers in the 80s and 90s tracts with a variable-speed Infinity heat pump. We run the load calc, confirm the ducts, and check panel capacity for the electric conversion before anything comes off the truck.
Multi-zone Infinity service in Gale Ranch and Dougherty Valley. The newer developments run dual-zone systems, and Carrier's communicating Infinity equipment handles zoning well. We diagnose zone-board and damper issues, service the controllers, and rebalance airflow on systems that were spec'd by tonnage rather than load.
Sub-panel coordination for heat pump conversions. The older homes near downtown and along Crow Canyon sometimes have panels that cannot support a heat pump conversion as-is. We assess capacity at the estimate and coordinate sub-panel work with a licensed electrician under the same project, so the conversion and the electrical happen together instead of in two disconnected jobs.
Summer AC repair and Infinity board diagnostics. When the Tri-Valley heat hits, we get the usual failures: capacitors, contactors, and refrigerant leaks on aging condensers. On Carrier Infinity systems we also see communication faults between the controller and the outdoor unit. We carry common parts and trace comm faults to the board rather than guessing.
