Goodman in Pacifica
Linda Mar's 1960s and 70s tract homes have real duct systems built in from the start, which is where a Goodman furnace, AC, or ducted heat pump fits cleanly. Pacifica sits right on the coast, though, and the salt in the marine air corrodes aluminum fins and cabinet fasteners on an outdoor condenser faster than anywhere else we cover on the Peninsula. I check for a coated coil option on the model before quoting a system this close to the water.
I'll say plainly that Goodman is a ducted line, so it doesn't fit every part of Pacifica the same way. Sharp Park's older cottages and a lot of the Rockaway Beach condos were never built with ductwork, and forcing a duct system into those homes isn't the right call. For those, I'd point a homeowner toward a ductless system from a different brand rather than sell a Goodman that doesn't belong there.

Coated coil selection on Goodman condensers near the coast. Where the model offers a coated coil option, we spec it for a Pacifica install, since the standard aluminum finish corrodes noticeably faster this close to the ocean. We also talk through placement, away from direct onshore spray where the yard allows it.
Corroded contactor and capacitor terminals from salt spray. Salt air works into the electrical contacts on a condenser's contactor and capacitor over the years, causing intermittent starts or a unit that won't kick on at all. We clean or replace corroded terminals as part of the service call rather than assuming the part itself has failed.
Cabinet and fastener rust on older Goodman condensers. Screws, louvers, and cabinet seams on an outdoor unit rust here faster than inland, sometimes loosening panels or compromising the cabinet seal. We check hardware condition on every visit and replace what's gone bad before it becomes a bigger repair.
