Pacifica is the one city on our list where salt air, not the size of the job, decides what I recommend. Anything mounted within a few blocks of the bluffs at Rockaway or Sharp Park takes ocean spray directly, and that eats at an unprotected coil faster than people expect. A few streets inland in Fairmont or up in Park Pacifica, the exposure drops off and it's a normal coastal-fog install like anywhere else on this stretch of coast.

Gree's standard outdoor coil doesn't come with the same anti-corrosion coating options that Daikin and Mitsubishi offer as an upgrade. For a home tucked back from the water, that's not a real issue. Coil and fin corrosion on units near the bluffs. On a Gree condenser mounted within a few blocks of Rockaway or Sharp Park, the fins pit and the coil corrodes faster than the same unit would inland, since Gree doesn't offer the coated-coil option the premium brands sell. We check fin condition on every service call out here, and if a unit is close to the water, we're honest that a rinse schedule matters more than it would a mile back from the coast.

Heat for a converted lower level or hillside addition. A lot of Pacifica's Highway 1 hillside homes have a lower level or a converted room that the original heating never reached well. Cleaning and resealing the connections fixes it early, but on an older unit close to the water, it can be a sign the box needs replacing.
