Does adding ductwork to an old wall-furnace house cost extra?

It can, since running new ducts is more labor than swapping equipment onto an existing system. We walk the house, check what's there, and give you a written quote that separates equipment from any duct work needed, so you know exactly what you're paying for before we start.

Why would I pick Goodman over Daikin if they are the same company?

Goodman and Daikin share a parent, but they are different product tiers. Goodman gives you reliable single and two-stage equipment with strong warranties at a lower price. Daikin gives you variable-speed modulation, quieter operation, and better part-load efficiency for more money. For a budget-driven ducted replacement, Goodman is the value pick. Is Goodman a step down from Daikin or Carrier?

Goodman is the value tier, but Daikin owns it, so the build quality is better than the price implies. The honest tradeoff is fewer top-end variable-speed features than a premium line.
