Maytag in Redwood City
Redwood City has more housing variety than almost anywhere else on the Mid-Peninsula, and that changes which Maytag equipment makes sense block to block. Maytag HVAC is licensed-built by Nortek, dependable mid-market ducted gear with a longer parts warranty than most equipment in its price range, and I recommend it most often on the parts of town where the house doesn't call for premium variable-speed zoning.
Downtown and through Mount Carmel and Redwood Village, a lot of the housing stock is 1910s-1940s, built before central ducted heat was standard and retrofitted with ductwork later, sometimes undersized for the house. Out in Redwood Shores, it's the opposite problem: 1980s and 90s townhomes and condos built on filled bay land, with tight equipment closets and HOA rules that limit where a condenser can sit. A Maytag system fits both settings, but the install itself looks different: duct correction downtown, closet clearance and HOA sign-off out at the Shores.
The shop address is still San Ramon, but Redwood City, Shores included, is covered now by the technician we added on the Peninsula, in San Mateo County. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and every quote is written before we start.
Maytag work we do in Redwood City
Duct correction on downtown and Mount Carmel retrofits. A fair number of the older homes near downtown and Mount Carmel had ducted heat added years after the house was built, and the runs are sometimes undersized for a modern Maytag furnace's airflow. We test static pressure before we install so the new equipment isn't fighting ductwork that was never right to begin with.
Condo and townhome installs in Redwood Shores. Redwood Shores units usually have a small mechanical closet and an HOA process for anything visible from outside. We size a Maytag system to fit the closet dimensions and handle the HOA paperwork as part of the job, so it doesn't stall the install.
Right-sizing replacements on Farm Hill and Woodside Plaza ranch homes. The mid-century ranch tracts in Farm Hill and Woodside Plaza are a straightforward Maytag lane: single-story, single-zone, and most of the original equipment from that era is well past service life. We run a load calculation rather than matching the old unit's tonnage, which is usually oversized.
Capacitor, ignitor, and blower repairs across the installed base. Redwood City's mix of older and newer Maytag installs means service calls run the usual range, capacitors and ignitors on the older furnaces, blower motor and control board faults on units installed in the last decade. We stock the common parts so most repairs involve parts we usually stock.
