South San Francisco is really two different service areas. East of the freeway, along Utah Avenue and the biotech corridor, the buildings are office parks and light industrial space, a lot of it leased in smaller suites that do not share one central HVAC system. West of 101, in Old Town and the hillside neighborhoods like Winston Manor and Buri Buri, the housing is older and smaller, built well before central air was standard.
