Decide what needs replacing
A furnace that won't stay lit doesn't automatically need to come out. An ignition fault and a damaged heat exchanger call for different decisions. If you don't yet know why it stopped, book a furnace diagnostic first.
For replacement planning, we compare another furnace with a heat pump. Keeping an existing AC, changing both systems or moving away from gas each changes the work. The system guide explains those choices.
The replacement assessment
We check heating demand, duct condition and the available return-air path. Then we look at the furnace space, venting, gas connection and electrical supply. If there's AC attached to the furnace, its coil and blower requirements are part of the assessment.
Equipment selection also depends on the rules that apply to your address and installation date. We confirm those before specifying a gas furnace. The home load calculator is a planning tool, not the final sizing calculation.
Furnace replacement price
Our furnace replacement reference price is $6,500. It isn't a quote for every home. Duct changes, venting, access and the equipment chosen affect the job; we provide the project price after the site visit.
Standard installation coverage is 10 years on manufacturer parts and 2 years on our labor. Labor coverage extends to 10 years with an active maintenance plan. The plan is $290 per visit, with two visits per year. The written estimate identifies the equipment and warranty terms.
A furnace we repaired instead
Our Ruud furnace job in Alamo involved a failed flame sensor and restricted airflow. We replaced the sensor, cleaned the affected components and checked heating operation. That is why we establish the fault before treating replacement as the answer.
Choose the equipment after the house is checked
Our brand pages cover Carrier, Goodman, Ruud and other existing HVAC systems. We can discuss the installation in Dublin, Alamo or Pleasanton, or check your address against our service area.
