Start with the affected room

On a multi-zone system, one indoor unit can have a problem while the outdoor equipment still serves the other rooms. We check the affected unit and its connection to the shared system. If all rooms stopped together, that changes where the diagnosis begins.

A blinking light or displayed code helps identify what the equipment detected. It does not, by itself, prove which part needs replacing. If you can see the display safely, a photo is useful when you book.

Leaking water, weak airflow or no response

For water coming from an indoor head, we inspect the condensate drain and how the unit is installed. For weak airflow, we check the filter, coil and fan. A unit that won't respond needs electrical and communication checks as well.

Those symptoms can overlap, so the visit covers the indoor unit, outdoor equipment and the connections between them. We don't ask you to open a cabinet or test wiring.

What a repair visit costs

A diagnostic visit is $99, credited toward the repair. Checking additional units during the same visit does not add another diagnostic fee. Tell us how many indoor units are affected so we can plan the visit.

The typical minor HVAC repair range is $250 to $650, parts and labor. A model-specific board, refrigerant leak or compressor problem is quoted after diagnosis; the minor-repair range is not a price for those jobs.

A cassette repair in Pleasanton

The Samsung ceiling-cassette case shows the indoor unit and the circuit-board repair. It had intermittent operation in both heating and cooling. We replaced the failed board and tested both modes before closing the job.

Repair, add a room or replace the system?

Adding an indoor head depends on the outdoor unit's supported combinations and capacity. It isn't automatically an add-on to any existing system. For a new room or replacement project, use our ductless installation page and room sizing calculator.
