Gree is one of the largest HVAC manufacturers in the world. A lot of equipment sold under other names comes out of their factories. Their own-label ductless mini-splits sit at the value end of the market: a budget alternative to Mitsubishi or Daikin when you need to condition one room or a small addition and don't want to pay premium-inverter pricing. We install and service Gree ductless. We're honest that it isn't the same tier as the units we factory-train on, and we'll tell you where that matters.

Where Gree fits Sunnyvale is the converted space. This town is mostly 1950s and 60s orchard-tract ranches, and a huge share of them have a garage conversion or a back-bedroom add the original condenser was never sized to cover. Extending ductwork into those spaces is often impractical, and adding tonnage to the central system to serve one hot room is the wrong fix. Refrigerant leaks at flare connections. Mini-split leaks usually show up at the flare joints, not in the coil. We find the leak, reflare or repair the connection, evacuate, and recharge to spec. If a quick-connect line set was used on a prior install, that's frequently the culprit and we say so.

Parts availability on value brands can be slower than premium lines, so for a single addition where uptime isn't critical, that tradeoff is usually fine.
