We install and service Trane across the Bay Area. Diagnostic is $99, credited toward any repair, with a written estimate before any work starts. New installs carry a 10-year parts warranty plus a labor warranty (2 years standard, extended to 10 years with our maintenance plan).

Trane: common questions

Is Trane's warranty as good as Daikin's?

Trane's standard registered warranty runs ten years on parts. Daikin's premium line registers for a longer parts-and-labor term, which is longer on paper. Our own labor warranty on a new install is ten years either way, and a repair carries a one-year warranty. If maximum registered coverage is the deciding factor, we will say so honestly. If build quality and long-run durability matter more, Trane competes well.

Should I pay more for Trane or go with American Standard instead?

Mechanically the two brands share a lot of the same hardware, since American Standard is Trane's sister brand under the same parent company. You are paying extra for the Trane name and the dealer network behind it. If build quality matters more to you than the badge, American Standard is a legitimate way to get close to the same equipment for less, and I will quote both.

My furnace is original to the house. Should I wait for it to fail?

If it is running clean, no. But BAAQMD Rule 9-4 starts restricting new gas furnace sales in 2029, so a furnace this old is worth planning for now rather than waiting for a mid-winter breakdown. We will look at the ducts and the panel and give you a written Trane heat pump quote so you know the number before you decide.

Is Trane worth the premium over American Standard?

Mechanically they are very close, since American Standard is Trane's sister brand and shares much of the same hardware. You are largely paying for the Trane name and dealer network. If you want the build quality at a lower price, American Standard is a legitimate option, and we will quote both so you can decide. We are not locked into pushing one badge.
