We install and service MRCOOL across the Bay Area. Diagnostic is $99, credited toward any repair, with a written estimate before any work starts. New installs carry a 10-year parts warranty plus a labor warranty (2 years standard, extended to 10 years with our maintenance plan).

MRCOOL: common questions

Will servicing my MRCOOL keep the warranty intact?

MRCOOL's warranty terms depend on registration and on who opened the refrigerant circuit, and a self-installed unit can have different coverage than a professionally installed one. We work within the manufacturer's terms where they apply. Any repair work we perform carries our own 1-year workmanship warranty, and a new system we install carries 10-year parts, with labor at 2 years standard (10 years on our maintenance plan).

If my MRCOOL fails, can you get parts and honor the warranty?

MRCOOL's warranty depends on registration and on who opened the refrigerant circuit, and a self-installed unit can carry different coverage than a professional install. We work within the manufacturer's terms where they apply, and the brand's parts network is thinner than the lines we install, so lead times can run longer. Our own repair work carries a 1-year workmanship warranty.

Should I put a MRCOOL in the hot room or fix the central system?

Depends on what is causing it. If the room was added after the central system was sized, a dedicated MRCOOL head is often the cleaner, cheaper fix. If the central equipment is undersized or aging, supplementing it with a band-aid just defers a replacement. We re-run the load and tell you which one your house actually needs.

If I installed the MRCOOL myself, can you still honor the warranty?

The MRCOOL warranty is between you and the manufacturer based on the unit you registered, not us. We can commission and document the install, which helps your warranty claim, but we cannot extend our own 10-year install warranty to equipment we did not supply. If we replace the system with one we install, that gets the full 10-year parts, with labor at 2 years standard (10 years on our maintenance plan).
