Is Amana's warranty real, and what does it cover?

Yes. The premium-line limited lifetime compressor and heat-exchanger coverage is genuine and stronger than most brands at the price. It covers those parts; it doesn't cover labor on its own, which is why our installs also carry a 10-year labor (2 yr standard, 10 yr with our maintenance plan) warranty and our repairs carry a 1-year warranty.

Is Amana's lifetime warranty actually worth it versus a cheaper brand?

Only on the premium tier, and only if we register it correctly. The limited lifetime compressor and heat-exchanger coverage is real, but it's parts-only from the manufacturer. Our install labor warranty is 10 years, our repair labor warranty is 1 year, and we put exactly what's covered on the written estimate so there's no surprise later.

Can you add ductwork to a house that only has a wall furnace?

In most cases yes, though it depends on the crawl space and attic access. We look at the house first and put the ductwork and the Amana furnace on the same written estimate, so you're deciding on the full job, not just the equipment.

What's the cost difference and the diagnostic fee?

Dual-zone over single typically adds a few thousand dollars in equipment and labor. Whether that's worth it depends on the house, and we lay the two options out side by side on the written estimate so you can decide. The diagnostic is $99, credited toward the repair. Installs carry 10-year parts, with labor at 2 years standard (10 years on our maintenance plan); repairs 1 year.
